New touchscreen Kindle released seven days early
Amazon UK is now shipping the Kindle Touch and the Kindle Touch 3G, the latest models in its ebook reader range.
Originally announced for April 27th, the online retailer didn't give a reason for the change of release date but said that customer interest had exceeded expectations.
Wifi and 3G versions of the Kindle Touch are priced at £109 and £169 respectively.
The new ebook reader sees the return of text-to-speech and MP3 playback, a feature missing on the £89 Kindle.It also has twice the memory and twice the battery life of the £89 Kindle.
Amazon said both the Wifi and 3G versions of the Kindle Touch would last for two months on one charge and could store up to 3000 books.
