First mobile operator in the UK to make long-awaited upgrade available for users of Sony Xperia S handsets
Three customers with Sony Xperia S mobile phones can now download the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update.
The mobile provider is the first in the UK to offer users of this Sony handset the upgrade, which comes as the next generation of the operating system, Jellybean, is set to launch in July.
It will be pre-installed on the Nexus 7 tablet, manufactured by Asus, and on the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S smartphones, as well as the Motorola Xoom tablet, in mid-July.
Three said users of Sony Xperia S handsets won't receive any push notifications to alert them to the upgrade, as it will only be available via PC Companion.
