Everything back to normal as RIM fixes fault
Blackberry services such as email and Blackberry Messenger have been restored following disruption this morning.
Earlier today Blackberry users were experiencing an outage with services down across Europe and Africa.
Blackberry maker RIM issues a statement to say that everything was now working as normal:
"Our apologies to any customers impacted by the BlackBerry service issue today. We can confirm that services have been restored and are now operating normally," the company said.
Thorsten Heins, RIM President and CEO said that around 6 per cent of users may have been affected:
"Preliminary analysis suggests that those customers may have experienced a maximum delay of 3 hours in the delivery and reception of their messages, he said.
"We are conducting a full technical analysis of this quality of service issue and will report as soon as it concludes. I again want to apologise to those customers who were impacted today."
