Hugs can also be sent back to the original sender by squeezing the vest to deflate it. According to its creators it can bring people close despite physical distance.
The Like-A-Hug vest for Facebook was the result of an idea to receive hugs via wireless technology. It won't be available in the shops anytime soon as it is only a research project.
That's bad news for people who hate physical contact but like hugs and good news for every sane person on the planet.
