 Asus Transformer AIO
It might look like a desktop PC, but the Asus Transformer AIO has a detachable screen that runs Android 4.1

First shown as a dodgy looking tech demo at Computex in Taiwan last year, Asus has now confirmed that its Transformer AIO PC will be available before the end of March.

The Asus Transformer AIO is an 18.4in touchscreen computer that can be docked into a stand and used as a Windows 8 PC, complete with Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, or detached and used as a hoofing great big Android tablet.

Rather than being one device, the Transformer AIO is actually two computers. The dock contains an Intel i3, i5 or i7 processor, while the giant tablet runs an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor. There is a button on the side of the device to switch between Windows 8 and Android.

The giant Android tablet runs 4.1 Jelly Bean and has 32GB of storage. It weighs a whopping 2.4kg. The dock contains will the Windows 8 workings and components and also has all the ports we would expect to see on a desktop computer.

What uses people will find for an 18.4in tablet remains to be seen. Asus is confident people will buy it though, confirming that it will be in-stores worldwide before the end of March.

Different sizes?

It would be great to see these available with other screen sizes like; 7" 10" and maybe a 14" with the same or similar processor options. :-)
