As part of our unique series of video guides to Windows 7 in Plain English, we show how to upgrade a Windows XP computer to run Windows 7. This video is in two parts - you'll find the second part at www.computeractive.co.uk/tv.
In this first section, we explain how to ensure that your files and emails are safe during the upgrade, and how to change BIOS settings to boot from the Windows 7 DVD.

Great tip!
I already have XP on a desktop and I'm considering upgrading to Windows 7, I have Vista Home Premium on two of my other PC's and I "might" upgrade as well? The short video tutorial while excellent could have been a bit longer, still a great tip!

Frustration in Spades !
This is an excellent idea, especially for a moron like me, and what happens.....? After getting 25 seconds into to the "video" it either cuts out or zips back to start again. If like me you are an idiot repetition is good cos I'd certainly make the mistake of doing or forgetting to do what I'm supposed to do...so we start agaim...and again. Then I gave up.
