The new iPhone uses Apple’s latest version of the iPhone operating system, which has been renamed iOS 4.
It’s very similar to prior versions, although there are some nice touches. One of our favourites is folder control, which allows the user to arrange all the icons on the various screens into folders.
Here you can see we’ve got several folders set up, each of which can hold up to 12 icons. That’s meant we’ve cut down the number of screens we have to scroll through and it’s much easier to find things.
The iPhone now also has backdrops for the icon screens as well as the standby screen – that’s more of a cosmetic change, but it’s a welcome one.
