Customise Word to make arranging photos, graphics and Autoshapes in documents or a table much easier
There are some ways of making the image-editing tools in Word more precise that can be very helpful for arranging photos, graphics and Autoshapes in documents or a table.
Normally, dragging to reposition an object, re-sizing it, or trimming it with the cropping tool from ‘Picture’ toolbar, produces a jerky movement.
However, if the Alt key is held down while dragging, this eliminates the jerks and permits the movement to be stopped exactly where required.
Alternatively, some objects can be moved using the four arrow keys on the keyboard. But this time, the jerks are eliminated by holding down the Ctrl key while pressing the arrow keys.
If the object to be repositioned cannot be moved, right-click on it and click Format Picture. In the ‘Format Picture’ dialogue box select the Layout tab and just below that, under ‘Wrapping style’, try selecting an alternative to the ‘In line with text’ option and click OK.
