Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive

Share files over a home network

Loading the player ...
You can access the files on it from any computer in the house

This Iomega hard disk doesn’t connect to your computer over USB like a standard external hard disk.

Instead it has a network port on the back, so that it can connect straight to your home network. With that done, you can access the files on it from any computer in the house.

Although connecting over the network is much slower than connecting over USB, it has the advantage of allowing you to share your files between several computers.

That means this disk isn’t much use if you only have one PC in your household, but if you have more than one, you can store all your music, video and picture files on this hard disk and access them from all the PCs, or use the Iomega Network Hard disk as a central backup location – in fact, it comes with some nifty software for that very purpose.
