Use effects to turn your digital photos into art with our guide
Experimental effects
Paint.Net also gives you the opportunity to experiment with your image by
distorting it. To do this use the tools found in the Effects menu under the
Distort category.
Selecting the Bulge option opens a dialogue box with three slider controls and a picture: click on that image to choose where the bulge should appear and use the top slider to make the effect stronger or weaker.
Photo software can change your images greatly, whether it’s just a simple colour change to black and white or something more creative.
The key is to try out all the different effects to see which you like. If you want to save the results use the Save As tool and choose a new name so the original photo is left untouched.
Prints Charming
If you have converted a photo into a beautiful work of art, why not hang it on
the wall? Several services, including
Snapfish
and
Jessops
will print digital images onto a canvas that is stretched over a wooden frame
and ready to hang, with prices starting from around £30.
Before ordering, though, check that your image is large enough: printing a small photo on a large canvas will produce blurry results.
