Use this fast method for entering fractions in Word
As a teacher, I have always struggled to prepare worksheets that require the correct display of fractions in Word. I have found a solution, though, and it is a real time saver.
Position the cursor in the desired part of the document. Hold down the Ctrl key and press F9 once. A pair of curly brackets will appear with a grey background. To create a fraction for three-eighths, type the following inside the brackets eq \f(3,8). Make sure you enter the space between the q and the backslash. Highlight the text with a grey background and press Ctrl and C to copy it to the clipboard.
Move the cursor to where you want to insert the fraction and press Ctrl and V to paste. Rather than pasting the code, the fraction will appear. Change the first number to adjust the top number and the second for the bottom.
