Workshop: Design a multiple-choice quiz in Excel

Who said spreadsheets are boring? Discover how to have some fun and develop your skills at the same time

You might think that Excel is all about number-crunching and little else. Well think again.

In this Workshop we’re going to explore how to have fun with Microsoft’s popular spreadsheet tool.

We’re going to demonstrate how to make a multiple-choice quiz whereby a player has to select the correct answer from a dropdown menu.

At the end of the quiz they will be shown their overall score and given a rating based on how well they’ve done.

This Workshop requires basic knowledge of Excel. The screenshots are from Excel 2007, but the tutorial will work in 2000, 2002 (XP) and 2003. As the instructions can differ between versions we’ve included alternative directions.

Here's how to create a multiple-choice quiz in Excel.
