Workshop: Check your spelling with Microsoft Word

It’s easy to make sure documents are correctly spelled with Microsoft Word’s proofing tools

Few people have perfect spelling and grammar, which is why Microsoft Word’s proofing tools are invaluable to many.

Typed words and sentences are checked against Word’s proofing tools, with potential mistakes highlighted.

If a word isn’t recognised by Word’s built-in dictionary it can be replaced with one of the suggested alternatives, added to the dictionary or ignored.

Similarly, Word can also check documents for grammatical and stylistic errors, too. These tools are switched on by default, but can be fine-tuned to your exact requirements.

In this Workshop we’ll show how to tweak the tools to suit the way you write. It’s suitable for all versions of Word from 2002 (XP) upwards, though many options will also work in Word 2000.
