Check multiple lottery entries in Excel

Use an Excel worksheet to quickly discover all the winning lines chosen by a lottery syndicate

The easiest way to win the lottery is to become psychic. Alternatively, you can join a syndicate to increase your chances of matching the winning numbers in the draw. If you start a syndicate, as the organiser it’ll be up

to you to check everybody’s entries to see how many tickets, if any, have won. This is time-consuming and it’s easy to make a mistake, which is where Excel comes to the rescue.

With a suitably designed worksheet containing all the entries, all you have to do is enter the numbers from the draw and Excel will find and display all the winning lines. The techniques demonstrated here should work in versions of Excel from 2000 onwards.
