Reduce the amount of space Spotify uses on your hard disk
Q While I was trying to track down large folders on my
computer I noticed that a folder for Spotify was using about
20GB.
Is there any way to reduce this?

A Spotify keeps a local copy of music, called a cache, on the hard disk to reduce the amount of data that must be transferred over the internet.
There is little point in downloading the same track five times, for example, so it keeps a song in case you want to play it again. Click on the Edit menu and then Preferences.
The Cache option is at the top of the Preferences page. Select the ‘Use at most’ option and move the slider to choose how much space Spotify can use. Bear in mind that the smaller this cache, the more information that will be transferred over the internet to your computer.
