Compact emails in Mozilla Thunderbird to remove them completely from the hard disk
I recently discovered that deleting emails in Mozilla Thunderbird does not remove them completely from the hard disk.
The store of emails must be compacted to recover the space. Click on the File menu and then on Compact Folders.
If you have deleted lots of emails that have attachments this can save
gigabytes of space on your hard disk.
