PC Help: Problems backing up

Back up your Vista hard disk

I have recently bought Vista Home Premium. I have two hard disks. The smaller is 2GB and the bigger about 100GB.

When the time comes to back up files from the big disk it offers the choice of either saving to small hard disk or CD/DVD.

As I have a lot of photos and movies, 2GB is too small and the backup fails. I don’t want to save every time to DVD.

The Backup tool in Vista will not let you back up to the same disk that the files you are backing up are on. It sounds as if Vista is installed on the 100GB disk; hence the smaller disk is the only option.

The best solution in this case is to buy an external hard disk for the regular backups.

If cost is a problem, an internal hard disk would be cheaper but would involve opening the case of the computer.
