Moving large windows on a small screen

A simple solution to finding icons that sit off a netbook screen

After reading Richard White’s hint for fitting windows on the screen of a netbook running Ubuntu, I thought I would share an easier solution.

It is possible to move windows around by clicking anywhere on them, rather than trying to find the title bar. Hold down the Alt button and left-click on the window in question. The cursor will change from an arrow to a clenched hand. Don’t let go of the mouse button and move the mouse to reveal the hidden buttons in the window.
