Mystery Opera message

Q I am getting a warning message when I start Opera, claiming that someone else is using my Opera program. Is my computer at risk even though I have software to protect against viruses?
Roger Ball

A The full text of the error message is “Another user is running this copy of Opera. You should install Opera with individual profiles to allow multiple users to run the same copy independently”.

This error normally happens when you accidentally try to run two copies of Opera at the same time. The usually happens when clicking on the shortcut when Windows is starting and another program tries to load a web page. This may also happen when you click on the shortcut again if Opera is taking time to load.

The good news is that there is absolutely no security risk associated with this message. Simply click on OK and Opera will load as normal.
