If you read lots of blogs with Google Reader it's a good idea to take a back up of the list of blogs every so often, and it's very simple to do.

Click on the settings link at the top of the page and then Reader Settings.

Click on the Import/Export tab and then on the link at the bottom, Export your subscriptions as an OPML file.

Click on Save, pick a location and click on Save again and then on Close.

That's it the blogs are now saved. The OPML file is plain text so you can open it in an ordinary text editor such as Notepad or the far more versitile Notepad++.

Should you ever need to restore your blog list, or move them to a new account, return to this tab and click on the browse button in the Import section. Find the file you created before, click on Open and then on Upload.
