Lenovo’s Thinkpad Edge is a fairly small computer that’s relatively light and easy to carry around.

The name is usually associated with business computers, and nominally this is one of those, although it’s not particularly expensive which makes it good for home users as well.

The Edge is actually a whole range of computers, which can be configured with different processors, hard disks and amounts of memory.

The one we’re looking at here is the top of the range with an AMD processor, a Turion Neo X2 model L625, and a 320GB hard disk.

It’s a 13in model, although it has a widescreen display so it’s fairly wide, which allows for an excellent keyboard. The keys are pretty much full-size and it was a joy to type on.

It also has something that used to be ubiquitous but nowadays tends only to be found on Lenovo laptops, which is this mouse controller. Instead of using the trackpad below you can use the fingertip controller to move the mouse around.

Generally, the build quality of the Thinkpad Edge is high, and it’s well designed and looks good. At under £600 it’s very good value too.
