Use a free tool to transfer emails from Windows Vista Mail to Thunderbird
There is a tool that can import Windows Vista Mail folders to Thunderbird. In Mail, click on Tools, Options, Advanced, Maintenance and the Store Folder button.
Download the Import Export Tools from the Kaosmos website. Scroll to the bottom of the page, right-click on the link and left-click on Save As. Jot down the file location.
Start Thunderbird, click on Tools, then Add-ons. Click Install and find the folder with the ImportExportTools-2.2.xpi file. Double-click on it and then click on Install. Restart Thunderbird.
When Thunderbird has restarted, click on Tools, ImportExportTools, Import all eml files from a directory and then also from its subdirectories. Browse to the folder with the Windows Mail files and click on OK.
