More speed dial shortcuts

Make it easier to access your favourite websites

A simple change to settings file can add more websites to the Opera Speed dial page, the page of nine shortcuts that appears whenever a new tab is opened.

First find the folder where Opera keeps its settings file. Type about:Opera and make a note of the folder in the Preferences row. It is most likely to be in C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\ Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile.

Click on the File menu and then Close to close Opera then open the file speeddial.ini in the preferences folder. Either use Notepad or a more advanced editor, such as Notepad++.

Move the cursor down to the forth line and type ‘[Size]’, enter, ‘Rows=5’, enter, ‘Columns=5’ and then enter again.

Save the settings file and then start Opera again.
