Stop Openoffice Calc from displaying sheet and page numbers
Q I use the Openoffice Calc spreadsheet to type lists. When I print these lists, the page always prints with the words 'Sheet 1' at the top and 'Page 1' at the bottom, even though these do not appear as I am typing.
I have to manually blank out these words and photocopy the sheet. Is there a
way to stop these words from printing out in the first place?

A The unwanted text is contained in the header and footer of the document.
Unlike word processors, spreadsheets such as Openoffice Calc and Excel do not display this text except in the Print preview mode. It is very quick to turn it off, though.
Left-click on the Format menu and then on Page. Left-click on the Header tab and click in the box labelled Header on. Repeat for the Footer on option in the Footer tab. Click on OK to save the changes.
