How to remove infections from your PC's Recycle Bin
Q My computer is a Mesh Elite Prestige Plus, with Windows XP Professional. AVG Free has reported that some Trojan viruses have infected my computer but has been unable to remove them, as has Spyware Doctor.
The beginning of the file location is D:\RECYCLER followed by long strings of letters and numbers. The infection is Trojan Horse BackDoor.Agent.TJA

A The Recycler folder is used for files moved to the Recycle Bin so you should be able to remove the infected file by right-clicking on the Recycle Bin and then clicking on Empty Recycle Bin.
We have also seen anti-virus software warn about files that have been saved by System Restore. The solution is to disable System Restore, which will make Windows remove all the old Restore Points.
Click on the Start button, right-click on My Computer and then left-click on Properties. Click on the System Restore tab and then click in the box Turn off System Restore on all drives. Click on Apply and then on Yes when the confirmation dialogue box appears.
There may be a pause as the old restore points are deleted. When the
hourglass disappears, click in the box again to re-enable System Restore and
click on OK.
You should make a new System Restore point as soon as possible.
