Each operating system needs separate protection software
Q I have just installed an extra hard disk in my PC so that I can install Windows 7 alongside Windows Vista. Do I need security software for each bootable disk and partition, or does one protect all bootable drives and partitions?
JR Richards
A You will need to install security software on each operating system installed on a computer. Although both versions of Windows will be able to see the files of the other, they won’t be able to run the software. If the security software can’t run, it can’t protect your computer. Many security programs can be installed more than once, so you might not need to pay more.

In my experiance , NIS is nowhere near as good as Kaspersky. NIS also seems to take over your computer. Don't take my word for it, see results of 'Computer Shopper' mag review. It also gives 3 computers for the price of 1
