You can back up your iTunes library to CD, but that disc won't play in your car
Q I installed Apple iTunes and bought and downloaded an album by The Troggs. A message came up on the screen asking if I wanted to back up The Troggs to CD, which I did.
However, this disc will not work in my car’s CD player or in my home hi-fi: the latter displays an error message while the former spits it out. What am I doing wrong?

A For whatever reason, the latest version of iTunes has made it slightly more difficult to burn music CDs. We think you chose the Back Up to Disc option from the Library submenu on the File menu. This creates a backup of your (one-album) music library to CD – but this is not the same as a music CD that you can play in a normal CD player.
To make a music CD you must first create a playlist containing the tracks you want to burn.
To do this, click the ‘+’ icon at the bottom left of the iTunes window and type in a name for the playlist (‘The Troggs’ would seem fitting). Now click Music and drag the relevant album or tracks from the list in the middle of the iTunes window and drop them onto the new playlist.
Now right-click the playlist and choose Burn Playlist to Disc from the pop-up menu.
Finally, check that the options in the Burn Settings dialogue box are as you want (the defaults are usually fine, but ensure ‘Audio CD’ is selected) and click Burn.
