Microsoft's latest browser Internet Explorer 9 is available in beta, along with the latest Flash Player, but they may not function reliably quite yet. We explain why
Q I recently downloaded Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) to my Windows 7 PC. All seems to work fine but I cannot watch the BBC's TV news channel or similar, using iPlayer.
As recommended by the BBC and Adobe, I have also downloaded the latest Flash Player, which Adobe says is designed for IE9 but it still doesn't work.

A Both programs to which you refer are beta releases. Put another way, they are considered by the respective developers to be for test purposes only. As such, they cannot yet be expected to function either fully or reliably.
That said, we haven't experienced this problem. Nor have any other readers written in with the same issue.
It might be worth uninstalling both IE9 and Flash and before attempting a fresh install. If this fails, reporting the bug to both Adobe and Microsoft may help.
In Internet Explorer 9, click the Tools button, choose the Send feedback option and follow the prompts.
To report problems with Flash, use Adobe's Bug Reporting System.

Iplayer workaround
look here http://naturaldogs.co.uk/bbc-iplayer/ It shows you how to use the documents mode to make IE9 act like IE8 I didn't need to mess with adobe's Flash player at all.

Use Google Chrome instead
The only simple way to use bbc iplayer if you have upgraded to IE9 is to install and use Google chrome.

This worked for me.
I experienced exactly the same problem after installing IE9. I found that resetting all internet settings using Microsoft's FixIt program worked for me. Just follow this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/help/internet-explorer/slow-five-tips-to-boost-performance and follow the instructions. Hope this helps
