Keep Facebook apps in check by using the Privacy Settings

Given how much information Facebook apps can share about you and your friends, it is worth reviewing which ones have been given access to your account so you can remove them if they are no longer needed.

Log in to Facebook and click on the Account menu at the top right. Click on Privacy Settings and then on Edit your settings in the Apps and websites section at the bottom left. Click on the Edit Settings button in the Apps you use section.

Facebook will now display a list of all the apps that have been given access to your account, it can be surprising how many there are. Click on the Edit settings link to see more information about an application and what it can read and do.

Click on the Remove app link if you no longer want to use the app and stop if from accessing any more data.
