Get a 24in Benq monitor to display your PC's screen at full-size
Q I have bought a 24in Benq monitor to attach to my PC, which I did using an HDMI cable.
I can’t get the monitor to display at full screen – instead I get around a one-inch wide blank area on all sides.
I fiddled with the control buttons on the screen but I cannot find any options to put the display into a full-screen mode. What am I doing wrong?

A This is probably due to the graphics card scaling setting, which is likely limiting the output resolution for some reason – perhaps to fit to a smaller screen.
To check, launch Control Panel, click the Hardware and Sound link and look for and click the specific graphics card tool – called either Nvidia Control Panel, Catalyst Control Center (for ATI graphics cards) or the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel.
Now look for the relevant scaling option. In Intel’s tool this is within Media, Display in Nvida’s and Display Manager in Catalyst Control Center.
The scaling should be set to 0 to ensure the correct full-resolution output to your HDMI monitor.
