Are you fed up with constant update emails from Facebook? We explain how to alter the account settings so you receive them how and when you want
It can be irritating to receive emails about every update on Facebook but it is easy to change when they are sent. Sign in to Facebook and click on the Account button at the top-right corner. Click on Account Settings and then Notifications.
The page that follows is rather long but divided into helpful sections covering all the different ways that people can draw attention to you on Facebook. There are also some useful reminders such as a weekly email with details of friends’ birthdays.
The last options cover the messages that Facebook Apps can send you.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page when you are happy with the choices and click on the Save Changes button.
It is possible to have notifications sent to your mobile phone as text messages as well as emails. The phone must be activated for Facebook Mobile first.
