Google Picasa allows you to add descriptive captions to your pictures, so that you record where and when your photo was taken before sharing them with your friends
The image organiser and editor Picasa can add captions to photos if you want to include a little more information than simple tags.
Find the image in your collection and double-click on it to edit it.
Click on the small bar underneath the picture in the centre just above the bottom toolbar. This will remove the ‘Make a caption!’ text so you can add your own. This can be quite long, I have created captions of several hundred words.
The caption can be hidden if it gets too long and obscures the photo. Click on the small white square on the left of the caption to toggle it on and off.
This caption can be read in Picasa, Picasa Web Albums and other IPTC compatible programs. It will also be shown in the Properties pane in Picasa. Hover over the caption to read the full text.
