Use a free Ubuntu tool to make Windows your default operating system
If you have installed Ubuntu on a PC but don’t want it to be the default system, a free tool can help.
Start Ubuntu and open the Software Centre or click on the Applications menu and then the Ubuntu Software Centre (Add Programs in previous versions). Click in the search box and type startup manager. Click the entry for Startup-Manager and click the Install button.
Once it has installed start the utility. For 11.04 click on the Ubuntu logo at the top left, type startup manager and click the icon that appears. In other versions, click the System menu and then Administration. Enter your password when asked.
The Default Operating system option is the dropdown menu in the middle of the window. Select Windows and click the close button to save changes.
