If you don't want Chrome to try and predict which website you are trying to type in the address bar, clear the browsing history or turn this feature off completely
The Google Chrome web browser tries to be helpful by suggesting websites that may match the characters you type in the address bar.
If you don’t want to see matches from your browsing history, it can be cleared.
Click on the spanner on the right of the toolbar and then click on ‘Under the Hood’. Click on the Clear browsing data button. Select the time period from which to delete records and ensure the Clear browsing history option is selected. Click on the Clear browsing button.
If you would rather turn this off altogether, return to the Under the Hood section and deselect the option ‘Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar'.
Close this tab and Chrome will no longer offer you suggestions of web addresses as you type.
