Putting pictures, charts or extracts from spreadsheets will give your Word documents a boost, but make sure that they stay in the position you placed them
A good way to make Word documents more interesting is to add Charts, pictures or snippets of Excel documents. To ensure they remain in the same place, they should be anchored to some text. To do this, click on the object and check that the text-wrapping option is set to something other than ‘In-line with text’.
In Word 2003, right-click on the image and select Format Image. Click on the Layout tab and then select one of the wrapping styles.
In Word 2010, click on the image and then on Format in the Pictures Tools tab on the Ribbon that appears. Click on the Position button and select an option in the ‘With Text Wrapping’ section of the menu that appears.
This will ensure that the object does not move from the position in which it is placed.
