Windows Live Mail won't save emailed Office documents in case they contain malicious software. Mrs Ross explains that it is easy to reverse this setting
As a security precaution, Windows Live Mail will not let you save Office documents that have been attached to emails.
The documents may contain macros that have been used by malicious software writers.
If you never open unexpected documents, it is easy to reverse this setting. Click the menu button at the top-left corner of the Windows Live Mail window.
Click Options and then Safety options. Click the Security tab and then deselect the option ‘Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus’. Click on OK.
