Simple clear advice in plain English

Access Windows files from Ubuntu

If you've installed Ubuntu using the Wubi installer, you might not be able to find your Windows files or music folder. Mr Davies tell you where to look for them

Click on 'host' to find your music folder, then you can import it

If you installed Ubuntu using the Wubi installer you’ll have avoided having to partition your hard disk but you may not be able to see the files from Windows.

To add them, press Alt and F2. Type /host and click on the folder icon that appears to show the Windows files. Press Ctrl and D to bookmark this.

To import your music in the Banshee music player, press Ctrl and I to show the Import Media box. Leave Folders selected in the dropdown menu and click on Choose Folders. Click on host in the left column and find your music folder. Click Import.
