Make sure your files stay on the Recent Files list

Office 2010 lets you 'pin' infrequently updated documents to the Recent Files list

The Recent Files list in Office 2010 programs has a useful tool that lets you ‘pin’ documents to the list.

This is ideal for important documents, used infrequently, that get pushed out of the recent documents list. Once files have been used recently and they are in the list, click on the Office button and then on Recent.

Click on the drawing pin to the right of a document; it’ll appear at the top of the list. The drawing pin will change colour to show the document has been pinned. Click on the blue drawing pin icon to remove a document from this list.
