If you're a keen gamer using Steam and want to install your favourite game on a second computer, it's much quicker to transfer it using an external hard disk
If you use the Steam gaming service, you’ll know that you can install and play the games on more than one computer. However, downloading a game again takes time and you could go over download limits. Using an external hard disk solves both these problems.
Connect it to the PC with the game installed and log into Steam. Click on the Steam menu, then Backup and Restore Games. Leave ‘Backup currently installed games’ selected and click Next. Select the games and click Next. Click Browse and select a location for the backup on the disk. Click Next twice and then Finish.
Install Steam on the new PC and connect the external hard disk. Click the Steam menu and select Backup and Restore Games. Select the Restore option and click Next. Click on Browse, find the game folder, click Select and then Next to start installing the game.
