Disable auto complete in Google Chrome when you are using a shared computer
Q In the 20 Security Dos and Don’ts article, you suggest disabling the auto-complete facility on a shared computer. The web browser I am using is Google Chrome and I have been trying for days now to disable auto-complete but cannot do it. Can you tell me how?

A First, launch Chrome, click the spanner icon at the top right and choose Options. Now click Personal Stuff on the left-hand side and click to remove the tick from ‘Enable Autofill to fill out web forms with a single click’.
While you are here, you may also want to click to select the ‘Never save passwords’ radio button (leaving the alternative enabled can be even more risky on a shared PC than the auto-complete/fill options).
Now click the Under the Hood link in the left-hand navigation pane and click to remove a tick from the ‘Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar’ box.
If you want to ensure privacy, now would be a good time to clear the record of old activities – so click the Clear browsing data button and use the options on the dialogue that appears to decide what should go and what can stay.
