Looking for a download or website featured in Computeractive? We explain how to use Snipca.com addresses with success
Q Can you explain how to get ‘Snipca.com’ websites to work? Nothing seems to work. Why do you use a website that gives so much trouble? It’s very annoying.
Harry Smith
A Snipca.com is Computeractive’s own service used to shorten web addresses. We use it when we want to turn a long website address into something much shorter and easier for readers to type.
The addresses need to be typed into the address bar and the three images below show the location of the address bar in Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Firefox.
The reason why snipca addresses sometimes cannot be found is that users type the address into the search bar, or into a search engine such as Google. This is like calling directory enquiries for a telephone that you already have. The snipca address, typed into the correct part of the browser, will take you directly to the site we have recommended.

The search bar to the right should be used when you are looking for something for which you don’t have a website address, such as a question or subject.
