Transferring your Thunderbird settings to a new PC is easy
When I moved to a new computer I discovered that my emails and address book from Thunderbird were not copied by the Windows Easy Transfer wizard. Thankfully it is fairly simple to do yourself.
Install a copy of Thunderbird on the new computer but don’t create any accounts. Exit Thunderbird. Return to the old computer, click on the Start Button and then Computer. Go to C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\profiles. The user accounts all have complicated names but the default will be marked as such, for example guk9u8su.default. Copy this entire folder to a USB memory key.
Go to the same folder on the new PC and rename the end of the default account to something different, for example, wu7c4946.defaul_. Ignore the warning that this could make it unusable. Copy the folder from the USB key and rename it to the name on the new PC, in this case wu7c4946.default. Start Thunderbird and all your emails from the old computer should be there.
