Use paste options to transfer formatted data from Excel into Word
Excel is great for working with figures but its ability to present those figures can sometimes leave a little to be desired.
The solution is to present the figures in a Word document. If you insert the information properly, the contents of the Excel file in the Word document will update automatically to reflect any changes.
The easiest way to do this is by copying the relevant part of the spreadsheet and then using a specific paste command rather than just pressing Ctrl and V. Once you have copied the section of the spreadsheet, return to Word and click on the down arrow at the bottom of the Paste button in the Home tab of the Ribbon. A number of options will appear. The two with chain links will link to the spreadsheet, one with original formatting and the other with the formatting in the Word document.
