Simple clear advice in plain English

How do I set my iPod or iPhone to the mono audio setting?

Use the Mono Audio option so you don't miss a thing while only using one headphone

Sometimes you might want to listen to audio on an iPhone or iPad with just one headphone on, if you want to also be able to hear what’s going on around you. The problem with this is you may miss sounds that only appear on one side. The solution is to switch the device to mono mode so each ear hears the same thing.

Another use for this tip for DIYers

Very handy in setting up speakers and checking that the wiring is " in phase " Ditto if adding a Subwoofer.
