Get rid of red underlining when the program detects spelling mistakes in text and stop people editing the document by setting a password
If you are sending someone a Word 2010 document and don’t want it spoilt by the red underlining suggesting spelling mistakes, there is a solution.
Click the Review tab of the Ribbon. Click the Protect button and then Restrict Editing. A task pane will appear with the title Restrict Formatting and Editing. Select the second option and then choose No changes (read only) in the dropdown menu below. Click the button Yes, Start Enforcing Protection in section 3.
If you really want to stop anyone editing the document add a password in the window that appears, otherwise just click OK. All of the red and green wavy lines will disappear.
To enable editing again, click the Protect button and then Restrict Editing. Click on the button at the bottom, Stop Protection.
