How do I contact BT when I am having a problem with their website?
Q I have problems accessing the My BT page of BT’s website. I can log in to the site, but can’t get further as I see an empty web page with an ‘Error 500: Internal server error’ message. The problem seems to resolve itself after several days but it happens again. I’ve contacted customer support but have not even been able to successfully explain the problem, let alone find a solution – they suggest running a line test. Could this be something to do with my PC?

A Judging by similar complaints on BT’s Customer Support Community forum, you’re not alone with this problem – nor your poor experience with BT’s customer support. Unfortunately, we have yet to find a explanation for what could be causing this website error, but our investigation did turn up one potentially useful piece of information.
BT also offers a customer-support service via its BT Care forum and if you make a support request using this form, one of the forum’s professional moderators will contact you within a few days to take charge of the problem (you don’t need to join the forum). This isn’t ideal for urgent problems, or ones that affect internet access, but it’s better than a frustrating phone call.
