Set web links in the Taskbar in Microsoft Windows 7

It is possible to pin web shortcuts to the Taskbar with a simple drag and drop from Internet Explorer

Set links to the web in the taskbar
Pin web page icons to the Taskbar in Windows 7

It is possible to add shortcuts to the Taskbar in Windows 7. Click and drag the favicon from the very left of the address bar all the way down to the Taskbar. When the cursor gets to the Taskbar a tooltip will appear that says ‘Pin to Taskbar’. Let go of the mouse button and an option will appear on the Taskbar with the same icon as the website.

This only works well with Internet Explorer and clicking on the icon will load the web page in Internet Explorer, even if it isn’t your default web browser.

To remove the icon, right-click on it and select ‘Unpin this program from Taskbar’.
