Sometimes it may be necessary to run a program while logged in to your PC as an administrator, as opposed to a guest account. We show you how
Every so often you need to run a program or installer while logged in as a normal user. This might be to upgrade an important program while a child is logged in to the PC, or sometimes it might be older software that will only work if it is used as an Adminstrator.
There is no need to log out. If the User Account Control window appears you can select your account (which will be an administrator) and enter your password.
If this option does not appear, right-click on the program and select Run as Administrator. Select your user account and enter your password when prompted. You can then install the software as if you were logged in to your account.
