Theo Ward's printer worked on the 32-bit edition of Windows 7 but not the 64-bit release. We explain how to update the driver
Q I have a couple of computers at home, both running Windows 7, one of which is a 32-bit version and the other is a 64-bit edition. I have been using an HP Photosmart C4580 for some time and I recently decided to try connecting to it wirelessly. Everything went smoothly in 32-bit Windows 7, but I find that I need to keep re-installing the driver in the 64-bit version, as it vanishes whenever I restart Windows. Do you know why this might be?
Theo Ward
A This is a known problem with your particular printer, and it is something that has been addressed with an update to the driver.
