Simple clear advice in plain English

PC Aquarium Deluxe 3

A virtual fish tank on your PC.

Screen savers were designed to prevent damage to CRT monitors, which happened if a single image was left on screen for too long. Today, much of the reasoning behind screen savers has been forgotten but many of us still use them.

PC Aquarium Deluxe 3 is an excellent alternative to the tired Windows offerings of Pipes, Starfiield, Marquee and so on. It's a virtual 3D fish tank that turns your monitor into a place of oceanic tranquillity when not in use. Once loaded, it selects the tank and number of fish, but you can customise your marine environment, choosing from 26 species of fish and different tanks. You can add an MP3 track too.

As well as using it as a screen saver, you can set it as 'active wallpaper', which means the tank will appear behind your Desktop icons.

For screensaver fans we think this is money well spent. What's more, download it, and you'll save yourself two quid.
